If you have a mental illness, you may feel changes in your thoughts, mood and behaviour. You (or your friends and family) may notice that you have signs and symptoms that vary in severity (mild to severe). Mental illness also has many different forms:
- Depression (and illnesses that affect mood)
- Schizophrenia
- Anxiety disorders
- Personality disorders
- Eating disorders
- Dependency problems (drug addiction, gambling problems)
A doctor or other health care professional will make a diagnosis based on your specific signs and symptoms.
