A SMOKE-FREE ENVIRONMENT
On November 16th, 2017, the board of directors of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de Laval adopted the policy for a smoke-free environment. The implementation of this policy aims to improve our health by:
- Creating a complete smoke-free environments inside and outside all sites.
- Promoting tobacco-free lifestyle.
- Preventing initiation to tobacco products.
- Promoting smoking cessation.
The policy for a smoke-free environment is aligned with the CISSS de Laval mission to improve the health and well-being of Laval’s population. As a health and social services institution, the CISSS de Laval has a duty to be exemplary.
Also, the CISSS de Laval is implementing the Ottawa Model for Smoking Cessation (OMSC) to help health professionals adapt their practices so they can systematically and easily offer to support all their patients having nicotine dependence.
