  • Resuming sexual activity

You can resume sexual activity once your catheter is removed and YOU NO LONGER FEEL PAIN.

The urologist explained to you that your surgery may cause trauma to the nerves responsible for erections. Impotence can also be temporary, and things may gradually return to normal. However, if the situation does not resolve after a normal recovery period, your urologist can offer options and treatments to restore your erections. While you are in hospital, your urologist will tell you whether your erection nerves were preserved.

The sensation of orgasm usually remains unchanged; however, the ejaculate will be dry due to the removal of the prostate and seminal vesicles. The absence of semen makes you infertile.
