Bladder spasms
You may feel bladder spasms, which can cause discomfort. These spasms are caused by a balloon that inflates at the end of the catheter.
- You may experience a frequent need to urinate.
- You need to relax, as urine will flow freely into the catheter.
If your bladder spasms are severe, this may cause urine leakage around the catheter.
This is not dangerous. You may need to wear light protection in your underwear (which you can buy at a pharmacy).
