If your safety is threatened, call 911 immediately.
Domestic violence can take many forms, such as verbal, physical, sexual or economic abuse.
Victims of domestic violence may:
- Feel that their partner watches everything they say and do.
- Feel guilty about their partner’s repeated sulking.
- Be insulted or humiliated.
- Get death threats.
- Get hit.
- Be harassed by their partner or ex-partner over the phone, in the street, or at work.
- Be forced to have sex with their partner.
- Be deprived of money for their needs or their children’s needs.
In partnership with other community resources, the CISSS de Laval provides services to victims of domestic violence and to children who witness domestic violence.
