    According to the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, people in a situation of homelessness do not have a fixed address or a stable, safe or sanitary place to live.

    Get services and support

    If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness, get help by contacting the  first-line intake of the CISSS de Laval at 450-627-2530, extension 64922.

    The Homelessness team at the CISSS de Laval works at different community organizations with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

    In Laval, you can access community support for social housing. Affordable apartments with services and support can be provided to people in need.

    The World Health Organization (WHO) has defined food security as follows:

    • Ensuring that people have both physical and economic access to the basic food they need for a healthy and active life.
    • Ensuring that people have the guaranteed ability to get food.
    • Ensuring that people have access to simple, reliable and objective information to make informed food choices.
    • Ensuring that food is nutritionally adequate and personally and culturally acceptable.
    • Ensuring that people can obtain food in a manner that respects human dignity.
    • Ensuring that foods and products are consumed in adherence to fair, equitable and moral social values.
    • Ensuring that foods are produced and distributed in a respectful way through a sustainable agri-food system.
